Project: Main Switchgear Upgrade
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Business Sector: Healthcare
Service: Construction – Design/Build
Budget: $600,000
Completed: 6/2022
Project Challenge:
Scion Health’s Corporate Data Center is fed from a single main distribution switchgear. In 2020, this switchgear exhibited problems that were determined to be caused by malfunctioning controller hardware.
Updating and repairing this system would require a full outage of the gear.
TechSite Solution:
To keep the Data Center operational during this work, a temporary electrical distribution system was installed. While in place, this temporary gear allowed the switchgear work to occur without loss of operation in the Data Center.
Additional scope was also performed, including replacement of main breakers (the breakers were old and hadn’t been been operated for years), a full interior cleaning and preventive maintenance of the switchgear line up.
